If you're wondering which one of the iPhone 7's new colors -- the shiny Jet Black or Watch Young Woman Bai Jiethe matte Black -- is more popular, ponder no more: The Jet Black version of the device sold out soon after Apple opened up pre-orders on Friday.
At the time of this writing, pre-ordering most versions of the iPhone 7 in Apple's U.S. store -- Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold -- will get you some sort of delivery date. For most variants, this date will be the iPhone 7's original shipping date, Sept. 16.. Some, like the 32GB Black iPhone 7, say Sept. 26 - 28. The iPhone 7 Plus models are mostly shipping a little later -- either from Sept. 27 - 29, or in "2-3 weeks".

According to numerous tweets, the Jet Black iPhone 7 sold out within minutes. However, while many users claim it was completely unavailable, this is currently not true; it just has a later delivery date.

One explanation for this is that the Jet Black variant of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is simply the most popular despite only being available in 128GB and 256GB versions and being prone to scratches. But it's also possible that this variant takes longer to produce, meaning Apple has fewer units to sell at this point.
The fact that the pre-order shipping dates have changed doesn't necessarily mean Apple won't have some quantity of Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units in stores come Sept. 16. In fact, we'd be very surprise if it didn't.
